I have two friends in town from Vancouver for ten days, which means I get to pretend like I’m on vacation too. (That never gets old.) I took them on a tour of the southeast side of the island yesterday, from Diamondhead to Waimanalo. As we played on the beach, one of my friends commented that I’m like a happy little kid. I absolutely love having my good friends here with me, so I guess it makes me, well, like a happy little kid. Let’s face it, life is that much better on the beach with a good friend in tow. But I also think that’s what Hawaii does to you and I think that’s why I love it so much. People are not consumed with the material things here; they are consumed with a sunset, a wave, a dance, a laugh, a moment. The simple things in life are the most beautiful. Hawaii is good for the soul, and it has definitely been good for mine.
Sounds lovely! Can’t wait to visit Hawaii for the first time. 🙂 I’ve officially added your wordpress blog to my blogger blogroll!
