I remember sitting beside you in church as a little girl, holding your hand as you moved through your rosary beads with your other one. We would squeeze our hands three times, a secret and silent code for ‘I love you’ and you’d wink at me and I’d pass it on to Mom. You would let me put your fancy rings on my little fingers. Together, we’d get our hands messy baking Hello Dollies and when you were contemplating your next move in gin rummy, you would drum your pretty nails on the table. Your hands gave the best back rubs. Your hands threw the best parties with the best decorations. Your hands raised five amazing children and created the most warm and loving home. Your hands were entwined with the same loving man’s for 64 beautiful years.
The last time I saw you, you were sitting with your jewelry box, matching up your earrings. I kissed you goodbye and you smiled your radiant smile, raised your hand and waved goodbye.
Grandma, I adore you. I hope I can be half the woman you were. I hope I can live and love as fully as you did.
Until we meet again, I will miss you and carry you in my heart always.
May you rest in peace.
Beautiful Rozzie. You painted a vivid picture of playing gin with Grandma, nailed it with the drumming of the fingers. So many good memories. Love you!
Loved your post about grandma –how ironic that I myself as a girl would play with her jewelry in church as the rosary beads were always in her hand…but do remember many a night when we are all in bed Grandma sitting up on the couch in Florida not going to bed until she finished her rosary…she was determined and you could see that in later yrs and the past month.
Love MOM
So many memories. I remember her picking me up from school on my birthday and taking me to The Ground Round for lunch and then next door to pick out pencils and stickers. I remember receiving a night shirt every year, and once she knew what animal you loved, receiving somthing dolphin oriented every Christmas. I remember her picking out Beanie Babies foe each and every one of us at the last Reunion – and not a single one was repeated. I remember her rosary and her praying for the duration of Church. I remember the mins she kept in her purse. I remember where the cookies were hidden in each house that she lived in. I remember so much about her and always will. She was an amazing woman, wife, mother and grandmother. I love and miss her dearly.
Beautiful tribute Rozzie… Lots of thoughts and prayers and love to you and the family!
Big big hugs from the Lal’s

Roz, What a great written tribute to our mother, your grandmother. I can’t agree with you more on everything you said. Thank you for sharing those wonderful memories. It simply brought me to tears and that is a good thing as we need to remember “Poopsy” forever and always. I hope this finds you safe and well.
Beautiful memories… write them down and pass them onto your kids & their kids… xxoo
